Hungerford Food Festival

Hungerford’s annual Food Festival celebration in the Town Hall and High Street promises a full day of local foodie fun with over 40 stalls, sizzling street food, live cooking demonstrations, Cook-Off competition, pumpkin challenge, apple identification quiz and lots more.

Come hungry as there will be plenty of stone baked pizza, Thai curry, burgers, sausages, veggie specials and lots more. Local producers range from grass fed beef and rapeseed oil to local beer, confectionary and honey with producers available to share their expertise and knowledge about their products with you. The town’s independent wine merchant runs a bar with wines, local beers, ciders & other tipples and Hungerford’s Scouts serve tea and cake for those looking for a sweet treat.

Hungerford Allotment’s display of beautiful produce always inspires people to grow their own and Kintbury’s head gardener will bring along a giant pumpkin for visitors to guess the weight of it. Your surplus apples can be turned into fresh, delicious juice on the spot if you bring them with you.

A schedule of inspiring live cookery demonstrations on the day, and for 2017, include Audley Inglewood Head Chef Gert Pienaar, MasterChef semi-finalist Ollie Hunter from the Wheatsheaf in Chilton Foliat and Hungerford actor Nick Lumley aka The Old Trout Smoker!

Why not submit your own exhibit and enter the Hungerford Cook-Off - jams, jellies, cupcakes and more are judged on the day by independent judges. Judging categories and submission information is available on

Each year, the festival is complemented with additional activities available for you to enjoy – perhaps a relaxed celebration with harvest hymns at St Lawrence’s Church, or a cream tea trip on the ‘Rose of Hungerford’ along the Kennet and Avon canal…

The Hungerford Food Festival event is kindly sponsored by Doves Farm and Audley Inglewood.
