Hop aboard for Easter fun!
Come rain or shine, a trip back in time on the country's original light railway will deliver family smiles all round, and this Easter holiday there are treats galore plus some 'firsts' to kickstart the new season.
Leading the Easter holiday fun will be a very special first for the K&ESR. Visiting locomotive Light Pacific 257 'Squadron' – the biggest and heaviest steam locomotive ever to travel along a heritage line - makes its first ever visit to the railway, an experience not to be missed! On loan from the Spa Valley Railway, 257 Squadron will make its K&ESR debut on Good Friday (7 April) pulling services on consecutive days from then until Wednesday 12 April.
K&ESR is also welcoming Marsh Vintage Amusements to Tenterden Station for the first time with their traditional fairground amusements and rides for all the family. Purchasing an Amusement Wrist Band for £5 on arrival will give all day unlimited rides.
The Easter Bunny will, of course, be making guest appearances over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend - providing a great opportunity for that selfie!
Easter themed activity sheets will be available on board all trains for children to enjoy and, once finished, they can be taken into the gift shop at both Tenterden and Bodiam stations to exchange for a free, delicious Easter treat.
There's also a specially devised Easter Challenge to complete around the Tenterden Station, site. Meanwhile at Bodiam, there is a Bunny trail at this pretty country station plus some Easter Games.
All these activities are free for those purchasing tickets to travel on the trains but are not included with platform ticket purchases.
