Hop, skip and jump into Easter at Beaulieu, where history comes to life between 1st – 16th April.
Meet colourful characters, see historic vehicles and spot the famous Easter Bunny in our flower-filled grounds over Easter Weekend, where you'll find traditional outdoor games for the whole family to enjoy! With spectacular vehicles in daily motoring parades, Chitty rides, Living History characters and the last chance to see our Story of Motoring in 50 Objects exhibition before it ends on the 16th April, join us for an egg-celent visit to Beaulieu this Easter.
Come and explore the National Motor Museum, with its vast collection of over 285 vehicles. Follow the special Story of Motoring in 50 Objects trail and see fascinating items ranging from record-breaking racing cars, crash test dummies, Edwardian motoring costumes and Shell postcards. The National Motor Museum Trust will also be hosting unmissable, fact-filled 'Meet the Curator' sessions as part of their exciting new 2023 programme, and little visitors should keep their eyes peeled for 'Rabbits in the Headlights' – a fun Easter trail hidden amongst the museum's cars… Toot Toot!
Experience the sights, sounds and smells of motoring history as Beaulieu's traditional motor parades* return. Featuring Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Mr Toad's Car and Beaulieu's famous Mini Outspan Orange, along with many incredible vehicles spanning motoring history, the parades are not to be missed! Get a taste of what transport was like in the days of yesteryear, and hear the fascinating stories about what lies beneath each bonnet. Speaking of bonnets… children (and adults alike) are invited to play Victorian dress-up at Palace House, where the Montagu family's extraordinary hat collection provides the perfect photo opportunity. Meet the costumed Victorian staff and learn all about life in the 19th Century, and over Easter weekend (Good Friday 7th April – Easter Monday 10th April) join in with a variety of fun Easter craft activities – including decorating the Easter tree.
Fancy a game of noughts and crosses? Don't miss traditional games in the garden. There's plenty of open space for children to let off steam and Beaulieu's grounds are wonderfully serene. While away a sunny day with a round of solitaire or sudoku, with the majestic backdrop of Palace House behind you. If you're visiting over Easter weekend, you might even spot the famous Easter Bunny amongst the blooms, hopping around, saying hello and gifting out special sunflower seeds to grow at home!
As an eggstra special treat, why not book a unique experience for your family – a ride on the magical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! Get your cameras ready as you go out for a spin in one of TV and film's most famous automobiles. Throughout the Easter holidays, this official reconstruction will be driving (just not floating, or flying) around the Beaulieu attraction for everyone to admire. Visitors can book their own ride (additional charges apply, with tickets bookable upon arrival) in this characterful 'fine-four-fendered-friend'. Or for those fans of 1996's whimsical The Wind in the Willows, Mr Toad's car will also be available on selected dates.
*Please note that the daily motoring parades start from 3rd April. However there will be no parade on 16th April.
