About

For one weekend only – the Clumps go ancient! Archaeology Festival 5th-6th August 2023

Join Earth Trust this summer for a fun-filled, immersive family archaeology festival as we delve into the past and discover the hidden history of Oxfordshire's iconic Wittenham Clumps.

Take part in interactive activities; touch and feel relics from the past and investigate the DNA of our ancestors in our science zone. Learn about the history of the area and the people who once lived here. Watch as experts demonstrate ancient crafts and techniques, and try your hand at making your own stone-baked bread. This is a must-attend event for anyone interested in history and the heritage of the ancient landscape here.

The festival is being delivered in association with DigVentures; the archaeology team who uncovered evidence of both a Roman villa and Iron Age settlement as part of their recent excavations around Wittenham Clumps
