Abingdon Rowing Club Spring Head of the River Race

About

The Abingdon Spring Head of the River rowing competition is one of the best attended and most respected river festivals on the Thames attracting over 360 racing crews, bringing over 1500 visitors to the town.
We are hoping for a beautiful hot spring day, allowing visitors to watch crews from Abingdon's Rye Farm Meadow and along the race course, leading past the Marina towards Culham weir. The event is extensively publicised in local print and web media and on BBC radio.
The event supports the town's rowing club which is becoming more popular every year, particularly with teenagers. We re-invest all proceeds into facilities, equipment, coaching, rowing courses and supporting members to compete across the country.
