"What a gorgeous Carol … Don't miss this brilliant young actor. He is just superb"- Miriam Margolyes
Join us in the Great Hall this December for a celebrated production of A Christmas Carol, directed by the Tony Award-winning Tim Carroll (Globe/Broadway) and performed by acclaimed Dickens actor Dominic Gerrard (RSC/West End).
This magical retelling of Dickens' classic story will transport you - stave by stave - through Scrooge's life as he journeys out, one bleak Christmas night, with the ghosts that have been sent to reclaim him…
With puppetry by Mandarava and a Christmas soundscape led by violinist Alexis Bennett, this performance is by turns haunting, moving and joyful and is the perfect way to begin your Christmas!
Tickets include festive refreshments before the performance.
This performance is recommended for audiences aged 12+
"It's all about atmosphere and language … It's an extraordinarily dexterous performance." Daily Mail ★★★★
"Gerrard has an unerring eye for the humanity in Dickens' characters… he communicates their frailty, eccentricity, cruelty and kindness with almost unnerving authenticity." The New European ★★★★★
"Gerrard is such a gifted and charismatic performer ... we're feeling boisterous one minute, and experiencing Scrooge's palpable loneliness the next." The Stage ★★★★
"I came away transfixed and am even writing this with a smile on my face ... please please please go to see this if you can." The Public Reviews ★★★★★
