Stanmer House Brighton, a beautiful 18th Century Manor House set in acres of stunning woodland and parkland in the heart of Sussex, nestled between the sea and the South Downs just 10 minutes by road from Brighton & Hove.

Steeped in history, this manor house has been beautifully restored and encompasses stylish and contemporary designs.

The fantastic restaurant spreads across three decorative rooms in the house with views opening out on to the perfectly mown lawns. Open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, guests are welcome  to come and relax by one of the open fires with a coffee, meet friends for a drink in the house bar or celebrate a family occasion in our private dining  rooms. The food is cooked by our in-house team of award winning chefs using locally sourced quality ingredients.The wine is interesting and quaffable  and the ales will be highly favourable and well kept.

Set within the countryside the house is also an ideal stop off for walkers and dogs alike that are welcome in the bar area.

Stanmer House can also offer facilities  for weddings of all sizes & requirements, from intimate ceremonies to grand receptions along with conferencing and corporate events.

Road Directions

Ifheading from the nearest motorway which is the M23:

 

Heading South you will join the A23 and follow this route until you meet a large roundabout, just after a flyover. There will be a petrol station on the right.

 

You will turn left at this roundabout and follow directions for the A27 - (Lewes direction,) this will be heading East. (Therefore left at the roundabout, remain in the right lane, over the next roundabout, over the A27, right at the next roundabout, then this slip road will take you onto the A27).

 

* Be aware, the turning for Stanmer will arrive shortly.

 

While on the A27, keep an eye out for the turning to the Hollingbury Industrial  Estate/ Stanmer Park, this will be the second turning off the A27.

 

Follow the slip road to a roundabout, go over the roundabout, follow the ascending, then descending  hill (be aware of the speed camera on the left as you reach the foot of the hill).

 

After a couple of minutes you will reach aT junction. Turn left, direction Lewes and University of Sussex. The turning for Stanmer Park is on the left hand side after about I 00 metres, just around a bend.

 

This will meander to the entrance of the park itself which is between two white residential buildings. On arriving within the park continue ahead within the park grounds for about I mile. Stanmer Park will appear on the left hand side amongst the forest, with the village church on the right.

 

Travelling from the A27 - Heading East:

 

After the turning for the A23 London/ Brighton on the A27, look for turnings for Hollingbury and Stanmer Park. Follow the instructions from * above

 

Travelling from the A27- Heading West:

 

If approaching from Lewes, head along the A27. After the turning for Woodingdean and Falmer you will see a signpost for Stanmer Park on a short slip road on the right hand side, be vigilant and quick as it arrives quickly.

From here you will cut across traffic and continue to follow the instructions at * above.

Public Transport Directions

By Rail

 

The nearest station to Stanmer Park is Falmer Station,- this serves the University of Sussex and is a satellite station. Brighton is the nearest mainline station located 15 minutes away from the park by taxi.

 

By Bus

Buses to Stanmer House can be taken from The Old Stein, Brighton. The number 78 is the only bus that travels into the park, stopping directly outside the house. Number 23 & 25 can also be taken from the Old Stein to the entrance ofStanmer Park. It is the stop before Sussex University.
