The Elephant Hotel

About

The Elephant Hotel - set in the bustling village of Pangbourne, beside the River Thames - is just minutes from the vibrant city of Reading. An independently owned boutique hotel with a dash of opulence and a lot of comfort, The Elephant is at the heart of its vibrant community. It is the perfect base to explore nearby Windsor Castle, Reading and London.

Stay in a beautiful boutique bedroom with handcrafted Indian furniture, rich fabrics, and a superbly comfy bed – four-posters are available. Each bedroom is unique, and dog-friendly rooms are available, too.
The hotel is home to one of the most popular restaurants in Pangbourne – The Herd - where expertly sourced steaks are matured on the bone for a minimum of 30 days and are cooked to perfection on an open fire. The hotel’s drinking den – Babar – is home to an eclectic collection of well-worn bar fodder, designed with lounging in mind. Casual dining is available, as is an impressive collection of 60 handpicked gins. A stay at The Elephant is bound to be memorable, especially when combined with dinner in The Herd (booking advised).
The hotel has been a special home to unforgettable celebrations for centuries. Fun, informal, and tailormade, no two events are the same. The Elephant can be hired for weddings, conferences, and dining parties, and baby showers.
