Lainston House Hotel

About

Escape to the country and drive through the gates of Lainston House, up the winding drive, to enter a world where historic charm and contemporary elegance blend seamlessly. This charming 17th-century country house is a luxurious five star hotel, encapsulated in 63 acres of Hampshire countryside.

It offers a wealth of experiences to discover; a memorable overnight break in lavish individually designed suites and en-suite bedrooms, a meal in the elegant 3 AA Rosetted Avenue Restaurant, indulge in an afternoon tea in the peaceful drawing room over looking the stunning avenue of lime trees, a spot of falconry, or a class in SEASON, The Exclusive Cookery School. The Cedar Bar is the place to relax for a cocktail and the outdoor terrace is even more so for sipping a glass of Champagne, or a chilled glass of wine over a light lunch in the summer months. A small amble reveals a 12th century chapel ruin; alternatively, explore the grounds which home a kitchen garden, beautiful birds of prey and a sun-dial garden.  On-site is a gym, 2 tennis courts and push bikes available on request.

The individually styled and designed en suite bedrooms are full of character, some rooms featuring elegant four-poster beds, rain showers, roll-top baths or jacuzzi baths and original features. All are fully equipped with spa toiletries and tea/coffee facilities.

Located near the historic city of Winchester and a short drive from Southampton Docks, the New Forest, Sailsbury and Stonehenge, there’s plenty to see and do in the local area. In addition, visit Jane Austin county, Highclere Castle;  home of Downton Abbey, Bombay Sapphire Distillery, or a local Vineyard such as Hattingley Valley. The famous River Test is close by and perfect for fishing.

Awarded silver award winner of ‘large hotel of the year’ beautiful south tourism awards, AA eco hotel group of the year 2015-16 and most recently, Afternoon Tea awards 2017 award of excellence. Welcoming children and pets, experience the charming country house for yourself.
