Activities on the farm:
Canfields Farm has a tradition of sale from the farm gate. The entire friendly herd of 30 suckler cows can be traced back to three foundation mothers, Peggy, Fox and Delight, whose well-being is noted by inspectors as being excellent and stress-free. Unfortunately, guests’ dogs can’t be accommodated at Canfields.
The fantastic bluebell woods are perfect for den-building, stream-damming and deer, butterfly and woodpecker spotting. On the farm, you can collect eggs from the Loman chickens and get to know the Goodwood lambs. The cows in the field next to you and horses at livery will be happy to keep you company. A great timber undercover area at the camp’s centre means wet weather won’t inhibit spending time together or devouring delicious barbecue food. The pizza evening together around the wood-fire oven is another dinner time treat. In front of the tents, a playground and play pitch is ideal for football or badminton, or whatever games you and your children can think up!
Explore the area:
Excellent walking and cycling adventures start right from your doorstep on the South Downs Way. Scenic towpath walks and canal boat trips can be taken locally.
Fishing can be enjoyed at Furnace Lakes Fisheries nearby. The village of Rudgwick boasts four local pubs, the closest of which, the Fox, is just ten minutes’ walk away. Try racing at Glorious Goodwood, Fontwell or Ascot, or golf at any of five courses within five miles. The market towns of Chichester and Horsham are also nearby.
Please note our tents do not have electricity, although guests can access to electricity through the communal areas and the honesty shop. Lights in the tents are by candles or oil lamps.
Any food that you would like to book (breakfast hampers, bbq box, stew pot, etc) at an extra cost can be booked online or on-site.
