Hove’s newest ‘hidden treasure’ The Medicine Chest bar and restaurant has had a glamorous make over after its days as the Sanctuary Cafe. The building has had a complete metamorphosis into a world, where everyday stresses, aches and pains are soothed away.
Come and enjoy a signature cocktail at our elegant bar, strictly under Doctors orders. The medicine chest itself sits on top of the bar counter, and was the inspiration behind the inspired cocktail list.
The main restaurant is on the first floor and the bar is now located on the lower ground floor, an atmospheric cellar with bare brick columns .
Sumptuous dishes to choose from include char-grilled free range chicken, garden pea & parmesan risotto, dressed rocket & red pepper sauce, pan fried fillet of sea bream, wilted spinach, baby fennel, roast red pepper & chorizo sauce or wild mushroom or camembert tartlet, wilted spinach, grape chutney, balsamic reduction.
The ‘Express Lunch’ menu at £9.95 includes a pot of tea and guarantees you are back at your desk with the hour. Dishes include the popular Medicine Chest gourmet burger, local Sussex ground beef, hand cut chips & rocquette salad or Moules Mariniere with rocquette and crusty bread
