L'ortolan
L’ortolan, located in the beautiful village of Shinfield, is Reading’s only Michelin starred restaurant.
Chef Patron Alan Murchison is passionate about his cooking, but also ensures that the same quality extends right through the whole experience and is as integral to the wine, the service and the style of the environment as it is to his food.
In addition to the main restaurant, l’ortolan can offer three private dining rooms for you to choose from, each with their own unique flavour. For larger parties, the main restaurant and garden room are available for exclusive use – all with no room hire charge.

Road Directions
From M4 J11 take A33 towards Basingstoke. At roundabout turn left. After garage turn left, then turn right at Six Bells pub. L’ortolan is the first left (follow tourist signs).

If you are travelling to us by train the most convenient station is Reading.
A taxi from Reading should cost around £10, travel time approximately 15 minutes.
