Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium

Winchester Science Centre (previously INTECH) is an interactive hands-on Science Centre with 100 hands-on science exhibits plus also the UK's largest stand-alone digital planetarium. Most of the exhibits have been made by the in-house Workshop Team, in conjunction with partners such as Universities and industry. Exhibits, shows and events all year round for adults and children.

Ticket options: Day ticket for the main exhibition area or planetarium-only ticket. Winchester Science Centre is an independent charity reliant on ticket income. All funds received are reinvested in the activities of the charity which includes construction of new exhibits and daily maintenance of the current exhibit stock, education visits and workshops, mobile planetarium and outreach, events for adults including singles nights - plus upkeep of the building.

Airbus Defence and Space Planetarium - An unforgettable and incredible experience. The enormous domed screen completely surrounds the audience, placing everyone right in the action. Relax back into a comfortable seat and get sucked into a black hole, fly through the Solar System or even explore the human body. A fantastic shared experience that will have children reaching their hands up to touch the stars as they fly by.

Winchester Science Centre is open 7 days a week.

Monday to Friday: 10am - 4pm
Weekends & bank holidays: 10am - 5pm
Extended opening hours during Hampshire Schools Holidays - See website for holiday opening hours

The shop can be visited without buying any ticket and is a great place to pick up unusual and quirky gifts. A variety of items are available at a range of prices, from pocket-money mementos to quality books and interesting experiments to try at home.

Chompers is within the main exhibition space, serving a wide selection of both hot and cold meals as well as snacks, drinks, cakes and children's lunch boxes.

There is an outdoor picnic area adjacent to the café. There is also an indoor area of tables and benches located on the lower floor.

The exhibition and planetarium are both wheelchair accessible, with a lift between the two floors.
