Mottisfont Abbey Garden, House and Estate
Historic House / Palace
A romantic house and gallery set in beautiful riverside gardens. Carpets of spring bulbs, a stunning walled rose garden, rich autumn leaves and a colourful winter garden make Mottisfont a feast for the senses all year round.
Stroll over sweeping lawns to the converted medieval priory that Maud Russell made her home in the 1930s. She brought artists, writers and designers here to relax, have fun, and make work inspired by Mottisfont’s past, including Rex Whistler’s extraordinary trompe l’oeil drawing room.
Discover stories of creativity, conflict, love and loss – and see how art is once again bringing Mottisfont to life, through changing exhibitions in our art gallery all year round.
There’s space to run, jump and play, and always something for families to do. Refresh your taste buds with a trip to the Kitchen Café, or treat yourself in our beautiful shop, where you’ll find a wide range of gifts, local produce and plants.
