About

Come into Marlipins Museum and step back in time to one of the oldest lay buildings in Sussex, partly dating back to the early days of New Shoreham in the mid 12thC. Its distinctive chequerboard facade leads you into an intriguing mixture of Sussex styles and we look forward to sharing our treasures with you.

There is a gallery for temporary exhibitions of art and crafts, photographs and history. Another looks at the archaeology of Shoreham where a deep pit in one corner and other recent finds give a glimpse of life of our medieval forebears in Adur.

The Shoreham story comes to the 20th century with features on the town’s airport and silent film industry.
