Hampton Court Palace
Hampton Court Palace was originally built as a present to Cardinal Wolsey from King Henry VIII sometime around 1514. However, true to fickle form, the King decided to keep it for himself after the Cardinal fell out of favour.
One of the UK's most popular tourist attractions, Hampton Court Palace is a mix of Tudor and Baroque architecture and ranks alongside some of the great palaces of the country.

The gardens offer some fantastic riverside walks, immaculate flower arrangements and beautiful views. The famous Hampton Court Maze was planted in the 1690s, is the oldest hedge maze in the world and is made up of miles of paths covering a third of an acre. It's great fun to wander the green corridors – just try not to get too lost!
There are permanent exhibitions about the palace history and the life of King Henry VIII, as well as special events, temporary galleries, seasonal festivals and performances.
