About

The windswept marshes inhabited by many breeding wetland birds, marsh frogs, insects and aquatic plants. The best time for visiting is early winter through to late spring.

The reserve attracts ducks, geese and wading birds. Visitors can follow the 1¼ mile track to the nearest hide and a 6 mile round trip to the furthest hide. Elmley Nature Reserve is situated about half a mile from the Kingsferry Bridge and signposted from the old A249, open every day (9am -9pm, or dusk if earlier) except Tuesdays, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Disabled and elderly visitors are welcome but it may be necessary to make special arrangements. RSPB members are free, non members are asked to leave a donation in the collection box situated by the notice board in the car park. Facilities include parking and toilets.
