Bargate Monument Gallery

The arts organisation a space was conceived from a desire to assist emerging artistic talent develop sustainable careers within the arts.

Emerging visual artists require platforms from which their work can be viewed, consequently
building reputations; a space endeavours to supply these platforms.

The gallery is in the Bargate, the 800-year-old medieval gateway to Southampton.

Road Directions

M27 jct 3 or 5, M3 jct 14. Follow signs to city centre. Situated at south end of Above Bar precinct.
car parking is available in a variety of city centre car parks. Our nearest disabled parking is in the Shopmobility car park off Castle Way.

Public Transport Directions

From Southampton Central train station walk up hill to city centre. Turn right into the Above Bar Precinct. The Bargate is at the end of the pedestrian precinct. the Gallery is located on the upper level of the Bargate, accessed via the stairs on the south side of the monument.
