Banbury Cross
A neo-gothic monument. In celebration of the marriage of Queen Victoria's eldest daughter, erected in 1859 near the site of one of Banbury's original crosses from which the nursery rhyme `Ride a Cock Horse to Banbury Cross' was derived. This nursery rhyme has made Banbury Cross famous throughout the world.

Nearest major road is M40. Take A422 (town centre). Carry straight on over two roundabouts. At 3rd turn left on A423, 0.75 mile traffic lights go straight ahead, large church on left Banbury Cross in centre of road.
Public Transport Directions
Nearest station is Banbury. Follow town centre signs, keep left on Town Hall into pedestrianised area. Follow pedestrianised way for 0.5 mile, it will now converge with road traffic. Carry on for another 0.5 mile Banbury Cross in centre of road.
