Petworth is a very attractive small town 3 miles north of the South Downs. It is noted for Petworth House, now a National Trust property, and its many antique shops. The House overlooks beautiful parkland designed by Capability Brown and is itself well known for its collection of Turner paintings. The town is only a few miles from Goodwood Racecourse, Parham House, Bignor Roman Villa and other attractions. Rectory Cottage is a 16th Century property with attractive beamed bedrooms and elegant dining room. It is very quiet with private parking and only 3 minutes' walk from the town centre, Petworth House and Park. Smoking allowed (not in bedrooms). Small surcharge applicable for Goodwood Motor Racing events

Road Directions
From east A272 into town. Turn left opposite east gate of St. Mary's Parish Church. Christie's auctioneers is on corner. Go through Rectory gateway to drive 40 yds on right.
From MIdhurst take A272 to Petworth. At mini roundabout turn left. Follow one way system passing church on left, follow road around to left. Almost immediately turn right (next to Christie's) and continue as above.
