Anne of Cleves House

Awards
- Visit Britain Awards - Code of Practice 2008
Parts of this lovely timber-framed house were built in the fifteenth century. It was given to Henry VIII's fourth wife, Anne of Cleeves, as part of her divorce settlement. The large kitchen and furnished bedroom, with a four-poster bed, are in period.
Galleries tell the story of Lewes, local resident Tom Paine and Bonfire traditions. A further gallery illustrates the Wealden iron idustry and there are displays of domestic objects and children's toys from times past.
The house and enclosed gardens are used for weddings and functions throughout the year, and are the venue for a Tudor Fair in October.
