Denbies Wine Estate

England's largest vineyard

International Wine & Spirit Competition 'UK Wine Producer of the Year 2007'

Denbies Wine EstateDenbies Vineyard is England's largest vineyard and one of the largest privately owned in Northern Europe. In 1985, an eminent local geologist identified that the estate had the exactly the same soil composition of the champagne region in France and that the Dorking area had a history of wine making dating back to Roman times. This knowledge combined with the vision of the present owner resulted in the planting of 300,000 vines over 265 acres producing on average 400,000 bottles of wine per annum.

Denbies Wine EstateIn the heart of the Surrey countryside, Denbies Wine Estate, England's largest single estate vineyard, is surrounded by 265 acres of vines and offers total escapism. Only 25 miles from London, Denbies produces a range of international award winning wines which include sparkling, still, red, white and rose.

It's the first wine estate in the world to give visitors of all ages a unique and fascinating insight into all aspects of the wine producing process, all year round, with indoor and outdoor tours and tasting.

The flint-clad chateau-style Visitor Centre hosts two restaurants; the indoor Garden Conservatory and the third floor a la carte Gallery Restaurant providing spectacular views of the estate, together with a diversely stocked wine and gift shop. There is also an Art Gallery with exhibits from local artists and art groups.

Denbies ConservatoryDenbies four star farmhouse bed and breakfast guest accommodation has seven en-suite bedrooms. Situated in the heart of the vineyard with peaceful views over the sweeping vines the farmhouse offers affordable accommodation which includes a farmhouse English breakfast.

A full range of high quality plants cultivated at the Denbies Kitchen Garden are available to visitors through the nursery. Converted farm buildings to the side of the visitor centre house the Kitchen Garden Centre and display the various seasonal plants on offer. Associated goods are also available, as well as advice on specialist products and growing methods. Vines, fruit and herbs are a particular speciality.
