An historic city mansion with a unique atmosphere and links to Charles II, Pepys and Dickens. There are beautiful interiors with early paintwork, fine furniture and pictures including works by Kneller, Dahl, Reynolds and Gainsborough. There are also charming interlinked walled gardens in classic English style with herbaceous borders, box parterre, a vegetable garden and a meadow.
