Jane Austen's House

A 17thC house where Jane Austen lived from 1809-1817, and wrote or revised her 6 great novels. Copy letters, pictures and memorabilia. There is also a garden with old- fashioned flowers. Old bakehouse in courtyard with brick bread oven, brick wash tub and Jane's donkey cart. Large collection of documentary material. Furniture and a quilt made by Jane and her mother and sister. Illustration of her books and of her various homes. Situated in pretty village.
