Goodwood House sits at the heart of the great sporting estate that is so prominent in the News, featuring motorsport, horseracing, golf and aviation, together with its own Kennels clubhouse and hotel. The House is the seat of the Dukes of Richmond and Gordon, and home to the heir to the titles, the Earl of March and his young family.

Goodwood is a working estate, with farming and forestry carrying on beside the contemporary sporting pursuits. The House is both traditional and modern, providing an elegant and glamorous backdrop to the many social activities. It houses a classic English art collection, with portraits by Van Dyck, Lely, Reynolds and Ramsay; fabulous and famous London scenes by Canaletto; and sporting pictures by George Stubbs, which were painted on the estate. The furniture is mostly French, as are the wonderful porcelain and tapestries. The Glorious Goodwood Guides happily explain the contents to the interested visitor.
