Rotherfield

Rotherfield is situated in beautiful English countryside amongst the rolling hills of East Sussex. It’s a wonderfully peaceful part of the world and yet the famous spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells is just 6 miles away.

In the village you will find antique shops, the locally-owned village store , two typical Sussex pubs and the pretty church of St Denys. The village is surrounded by farmland where sheep and cattle graze peacefully in the fields.
Rotherfield is off the beaten track yet easily accessible to visitors from near and far. The area is real Sussex countryside with working farms (and even a vineyard) producing high quality food and drink for the local and national markets.

The Parish has over 40 miles of public rights of way, and some 11 miles of bridleways and byways.
The walks are well signposted and the whole network has been completely renovated, restoring these ancient rights of way to their former glory.

Although Rotherfield is steeped in history, it is not an ‘Olde Worlde’ touristy place. It's visitor friendly. Surrounded by beauty, and yet quite simple in itself. There’s a real sense of community, and the village retains a natural English unpretentiousness.
