Spend an Evening with the Bats at Stowe Landscape Gardens

Monday, 14th April 2008

Bat lovers should fly to Stowe Landscape Gardens on Sunday 4th May for a special ‘Bat Detection Evening’. The National Trust and the North Bucks Bat Group are joining together to host an exciting evening walk for all the family around the gardens at Stowe to search for and observe bats in their natural habitat.

Stowe’s extensive gardens are home to three varieties of bats; Pipistrelles, Noctules and Daubentons, and there will be the opportunity during the walk to learn about and see all three varieties in the wild.

The walk begins at 7.15pm, just as the bats emerge from their roosts, and will last for approximately 1½ hours. The walk also provides the unique opportunity to enjoy the natural landscape of the Elysian Fields at sunset.

Tickets are £5 per adult and £3 per child. In order to get the best sightings of the bats whilst not disturbing their feeding habits, places are limited and booking is required. Please call the Stowe Booking Office on 01280 822850 without delay.

North Bucks Bat Group exists to further the interests of bat conservation in Aylesbury Vale and Milton Keynes. It does this through recording, monitoring, education work and practical conservation, and the provision of advice. It works closely with other bat groups and under the guidance of the Bat Conservation Trust
