Easter Fun at Woburn Safari Park
There is lots of fun for everyone this Easter at Woburn Safari Park. Spring is in the air as some of the proud Mums show off their new babies that were born in the winter - look out for Tambi, the lioness and her three lion cubs who will be out and about with the rest of the pride. Acacia the rare Rothschild Giraffe will be proudly showing off her calf Harris as well.
The Park has now reopened fully after the winter and the animals are all out in the reserves and ready for some spring sunshine. The drive-through safari takes approximately an hour but visitors may tour the reserves as often as they like during the day with the last entry at 5 p.m. But there is lots of fun and activity in the walk around Wild World Leisure Area so it is a full day out at the Safari Park.
On the Easter Bank Holiday weekend there is a funfair suitable for small children in addition to all the other talks and demonstrations, indoor and outdoor playgrounds including the popular indoor Mammoth Play Ark.
New for this Easter - a special production by the Rear View Mirror Theatre Company who are bringing one of their `wild productions' to Woburn Safari Park. Rear View Mirror create educational shows that manage to make adults laugh as much as the children. With no live animals in the show, actors bring characters to life such as Gibbs the Gibbon and Lisa the Lemur. Pantoesque performances involve the audience and leave everyone with a smile on their face. Their shows will include the following:
Recyclo : Can Recyclo convince the kids of Planet Earth to use his salute and 3 R's? Will he stop the dastardly Dr. Pollutron from activating his `End of the World Thingymagiggy'? Hopefully the Bank Holiday visitors will be able to help Recyclo save the day.
Dr. Zoo : Weclome to the year 3,000 where the grass is green and the ari is really clean but there are no animals to be seen - except for two! Join Dr. Zoo as he takes the two surviving animals back in time using his Fantastic mind Constrapulator, his new animal companions, a bit of luck and his trusty shiny fantastic time machine. This is all in aid of saving the animals of planet earth but who is taking them all? Find out in Dr. Zoo.
Farmer Fierce : Farmer Fierce is a farmer and he is fierce. Follow the animals in Madagascar as they try and find a new home. Sadly Farmer Fierce has other plans including lots of new farmland so will the animals find a new home - Find out on Bank Holiday Monday.
Woburn Safari Park is open daily from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. The Woburn Passport ticket is also available which can either be used on the same day of visit or within 12 months to visit Woburn Abbey, home of the Duke of Bedford and his family. Woburn is signposted from Junction 13 off the M1 and is just 15 minutes from Milton Keynes or Bedford.
