Mercedes-Benz World announces unmissable 2008 events calendar

One of the UK's most exciting automotive venues, Mercedes-Benz World, is revving into action this January by launching its action packed events calendar for 2008.
From festivals and concerts, to sporting events and exhibitions, Mercedes-Benz World in Weybridge, Surrey, will have them all.
The jewel in the 2008 events crown for Mercedes-Benz World is undoubtedly the eagerly-awaited Elton John concerts taking place on Friday 11th and Sunday 13th July. Sir Elton will be the first artist to headline a summer concert at the venue - giving a spectacular backdrop for a wonderful night out.
The outdoor concerts will be staged within a specially constructed arena at Mercedes-Benz World and tickets are still available for this must see event.
Another milestone event for 2008 is the Brooklands Motoring Festival, featuring the Brooklands Double Twelve, set to take place on 28th and 29th June.
Mercedes-Benz World and the Brooklands Museum have again teamed up to create an exciting weekend featuring a series of unique driving trials which will be judged by a select panel of experts, under the exacting criteria of a Concours d'Elegance.
Over two days, competitors will take part in a series of driving trials using many of the layouts used in the 1939 JCC Rally at Brooklands. The trials will take place in challenging environments, such as the Members' Banking and the notorious Test Hill of the original circuit, as well as on the modern handling circuits at
Mercedes-Benz World.
Marks awarded in the two disciplines will be added to give an overall score, ensuring that the class and overall winners will be selected from the best drivers using the best-kept vehicles.
Based on the success of last year's motoring enthusiast events, Mercedes-Benz World will again hold Auto Italia and the Mercedes-Benz Owners Club Events, as well as the renowned smart festival.
Continuing its commitment to young driver safety, Mercedes-Benz World will also be hosting Safe Drive Stay Alive in Action, an event designed to provide practical advice and experience on how to avoid road traffic accidents and improve safety awareness.
Mercedes-Benz World will be a haven for kids during the school holidays with The Stars Driving Club sessions taking place every day alongside special shows from the Silver Arrows Display Team and entertaining shows from the Mercedes-Benz crash test dummy characters.
For those with a competitive streak Mercedes-Benz World will also be holding its fair share of sporting events, including the Brooklands 10k run and a Duathalon.
This year promises to build on the excitement, glamour and action that launched Mercedes-Benz World over a year ago, so get those diaries out and start planning!

Mercedes-Benz World is open daily from 10am to 6pm, seven days a week (except Christmas Day and Boxing Day), and admission is free.
