This Mothers Day weekend make your mum feel like she's Queen for the day and treat her to a palace packed full of floral delights as Hampton Court Palace celebrates the 10th anniversary of its annual floral extravaganza Florimania!
The splendour of Queen Mary's apartments at Hampton Court Palace will dazzle with a fragrant array of floral displays inspired by different eras and cultures from around the world and by Queen Mary's love of exotic plants and tulips. The displays, to be arranged by Surrey area of NAFAS (National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies) members, will be interspersed with exhibits of craftwork and stories of famous Plant Hunters such as Joseph Banks and the Tradescants.
There will be over forty floral displays inspired by centuries of imaginative flower arranging with flowers on show including antirrhinums, delphiniums, lilies, roses, stocks, sunflowers and tulips alongside exotic plants from around the world. For the last nine years this event has entranced palace visitors and this tenth year promises to be the best yet!
After enjoying the flowers inside the palace, outside sixty-five acres of world-famous gardens await: enjoy King William III's Privy Garden with its distinctive conical bushes, explore the 'Wilderness' with its carpet of spring daffodils and crocuses, and wind your way through the palace's famous labyrinthine maze.
