Excursions 2009

ExcursionsThe highly successful UK premier one-day group travel exhibition held at Alexandra Palace on Saturday, 17th January 2009. Tourism South East take the lead in organising this event along with Group Travel Organiser magazine also supported by Visit London, East of England Tourism and Yorkshire Tourist Board. The Exhibition is an ideal way to establish new group contacts and develop existing relationships.

Group Travel Fairs 2009

Held annually, the Group Travel Fairs take place at attractions across the region. Sponsored by Group Travel Organiser magazine. Winchester Cathedral in Hampshire, Dickens World in Kent and Hatfield House in Hertfordshire will play host to the 2009 Group Travel Fairs. The trade fairs attract over 50 exhibitors from destinations, attractions, entertainment, accommodations and places to eat. With a growing educational sector interest, the fairs are building on their success to provide visitors with valuable information and ideas for future group travel itineraries.

Winchester Cathedral Group Travel Fair

  • Exhibition date: 31st January 2009

Winchester Cathedral Winchester Cathedral has its origins in the seventh century, when a Christian Church was first built on the site. Since then it has played a fundamental part in the life of this ancient city, and a role in our nation’s history.

The Group Travel Fair will be held within the cathedral, giving visitors the opportunity to view the magnificent architecture as well as collecting all their information for future trinities. Tours of Winchester city will also be available throughout the day.

Dickens World Travel Fair:

  • Exhibition date: 7th February 2009

Dickens WorldDickensWorld has an assortment of attractions to keep all ages entertained. Visitors get the change to come face to face with some of Dickens literacy characters in their magnificent rendition of a Victorian town courtyard!

The event will be held in the theatre above the main court yard, allowing visitors to enjoy all the facilities. Tours to Chatham Historic Dockyard and Rochester town will provide visitors with a sample of what this part of Kent has to offer the groups market.

Hatfield House Group Travel Fair:

  • Exhibition date: Saturday 28th February 2009

Hatfield HouseHatfield House is a fine Jacobean House and Garden in a spectacular countryside setting. The Estate has been in the Cecil family for 400 years, one of England’s foremost political families. The Royal Palace of Hatfield in the West Garden is where Elizabeth I spent most of her childhood.

The Group Travel Fair will be held in the riding school, allowing visitors to tour the magnificent house and gardens to experience the rich history on offer.
