The River Thames
When you feel like being on the water, a trip on the River Thames is hard to beat. So many things in the area take place in, alongside or on the River Thames. There are the animals at Beale Park, Berkshire and the River and Rowing Museum on the River Thames at Henley, Oxfordshire.
Portsmouth
One of the most exciting locations in Hampshire, with everything from excellent shopping at Gunwharf Quays to historic ships such as HMS Victory in the dockyards. If you want to get the best view of this fascinating city, head to the top of the Spinnaker Tower.
Southampton
A short break in Southampton, Hampshire means time for serious shopping in the West Quay Shopping Centre, a look at classic art in the Southampton City Art Gallery or seeing a show at the Mayflower Theatre.
Arundel
You can't help being impressed in Arundel, West Sussex. From exploring the magnificent Arundel Castle to pottering on the River Arun, it's an almost fairytale destination.
Winchester
The statue of King Arthur in Winchester, Hampshire is perhaps the city’s best known icon – and his famous Round Table of course that hangs in Winchester Castle. For something a bit different, head outside the city to the popular Marwell Zoo.
Windsor
The wonderful Windsor Castle dominates the town - but there’s much more see and do in Windsor, Berkshire including the Theatre Royal Windsor and Savill Gardens.
