Plans are underway to organise Woking's first multi-cultural Party in the Park on 7 July 2012 in Woking Park.
The family-friendly event aims to be an inspiring and fully inclusive event for all age and community groups. Our ideas to date include five themes representing the Olympic rings – music, dance, language/literature, visual arts and sport.
The event takes its inspiration from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games which aims to ‘use the power of the Games to inspire lasting change’ and to encourage participation amongst athletes, artists, education providers, community groups, residents and businesses alike to share the diverse cultural opportunities available within the Borough.
Party in the Park will kick off Woking Borough’s London 2012 final countdown celebrations in the lead up to the men’s and women’s Olympic Cycle Road Races, which are set to whizz through the Borough on 28 and 29 July 2012.
