Guildford Lions Charity Torchlight Procession and Fireworks Display

Guildford Lions Club are pleased to confirm that we will putting on our annual charity torchlight procession and Fireworks display again this year but with a number of important changes which are

The procession and display will take place on Saturday November 4th not the traditional 5th

For crowd safety reasons, the following roads will be closed between 18:50 and 21:00

London Road between the A25 roundabout and the York Road/Waterden Road

Nightingale Road

Lido Road

Traffic diversions will be in place

Resident only access plus disabled parking access to the High School on London Road will be allowed but strictly controlled by our traffic management company

Again for crowd safety reasons we ask that wherever possible people do not bring rucksacks or large bags into the Park although we do appreciate families with children will need such bags. Random bag searches will be in place

Free car parking will be available at Allianz Insurance Plc on Ladymead GU1 1DB and Guildford College on Stoke Road GU1 1EZ. Disabled parking will be available at Guildford High School, London GU1 1SJ

We believe holding the display and procession on a Saturday is more family friendly and again with families in mind we are maintaining the earlier start times we introduced  last year

The details of this years event are

High Street
Torch sales will begin at 18:00 until 19:00
Mayoral address at 18:45
Procession leaves at 19:00

Stoke Park
Peter Gordon from Eagle Radio will be on site at 18:30
Procession arrives at park circa 19:30/19:45
Display begins at 20:00

Torches again will cost £5 and entry to the display remains by donation but at £5 per person or £10 per family to reflect increasing costs.

All profits will be split between Headway Surrey who provide support and services for those affected by brain injury across the county of Surrey, Challengers who provide exciting, challenging, and – most importantly – inclusive play and leisure activities for disabled children and young people. and our club welfare fund which supports local people in need
