The summer holidays may be over with autumn fast approaching, but there's no let-up in top class events and festivals in what is traditionally a cost-effective month for weekend breaks, days out and holidays while the weather is still relatively warm.
Did you know the Paralympic movement was born in Buckinghamshire at Stoke Mandeville Stadium? This link will be marked on the eve of the 2016 Paralympic games with a Rio-inspired carnival, food, events and fireworks.

One of the most renowned gardens in the UK, RHS Wisley, hosts its annual late summer flower show from September 6th to the 11th in a weekend of major and varied events with Bestival on the Isle of Wight and the Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials.
September is Heritage Open Days month and dozens of events in the South East are set to give free access to locations or exhibits not usually open to the public or on display while the Henley Show marks its 125th anniversary
One of the biggest motor events of the year takes place between September 9th and 11th as Goodwood Revival takes a magical step back in time with racing and cars as seen in the 1940s, 50s and 60s. Visitors to Kent this weekend can enjoy the Weald of Kent Craft & Design Show and the action-packed Wheels & Fins Festival.
The Roald Dahl Museum commemmorates 100 years since the author was born on September 13th with special appearances from some of your favourite characters. Another anniversary is 300 years of Capability Brown and Blenheim Palace is putting on carriage rides around its famous landscape gardens.
The ten-day PSP Southampton Boat Show is the South Coast's biggest marine event with more than 500 exhibitors while transport buffs may also enjoy the Isle of Wight's International Classic Car Show, taking place on the same weekend as the island's Gin Festival.
