West Norfolk Coast
West Norfolk is a truly special place of unspoilt charm and natural beauty. Renowned for its superb coastline, much of it an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. A great place to enjoy the sand and sea, alongside charming villages, peaceful countryside and the classic seaside resort of Hunstanton.
Hunstanton
The only west facing resort on the east coast of England - there are two sides to Hunstanton. The elegant old Victorian town with its Esplanade Gardens and rather sedate air of days gone by... and the lively buzzing family centre with a large sandy beach (Quality Coast Award), pony rides, amusements and summer season theatre.
Visit the seal hospital at the Sea Life Sanctuary, take a trip on the 'Wash Monster' and learn to kite or windsurf off the coast. Old Hunstanton has more of a village feel, with its beach (including rock pools) backed by famous red and white striped cliffs.
Other 'Seaside' Places of Interest
South from Hunstanton is Heacham, with its rural beach of gently shelving sands. It is also home of Norfolk Lavender - with fragrant gardens to explore. Heading north, Brancaster is a little fishing village with sailing boats, seafood for sale and the earthworks of a Roman fort.
Visit the sandy beach with dunes - great for walks. www.visitwestnorfolk.com
