Windsor is easy to reach by road being located approximately 3 miles from M4 J6 with excellent links to M25, M40 and M3.
Public Transport Directions
TRAINS
Windsor Riverside Station – runs to London Waterloo twice an hour, journey time 1 hour. Station is located about 7 mins walk from the apartment.
Windsor & Eton Central Station – runs to Slough every 20 mins, journey time 6 mins. From Slough link to London Paddington every 15 mins, journey time varies from 20-40 mins depending on stops. Direct links from Slough to Reading, Oxford and Exeter. Station is located 5 mins walk from apartment.
BUSES
Green Line Bus – runs between London Victoria and Windsor, stopping right outside the castle, hourly, journey time just over an hour. The bus stop is just a few mins walk to the apartment. The bus goes on from the Castle directly to Legoland.
There are 3 regular daily bus routes between the bus station in front of arrivals at Terminal 5 and Windsor Castle or Eton. Take the 71 or 77 from outside the Castle twice an hour throughout the week and hourly on Sundays. The journey takes around 40 mins. There is also an hourly service from Eton during the week on the 60 or 61.
PLANES
London Heathrow – the closest airport to Windsor about 10 miles away. Hire a car at the airport and drive to Windsor via M4 to J6 or take a taxi for around £15. Alternatively there is a regular bus service between the airport and Windsor Castle as above.
London Gatwick - located approx 40 miles from Windsor. You can drive to Windsor via M23, M25 and M4. Taxis will cost around £48. You can also take the Gatwick Express to Heathrow.
Luton - is also around 40 miles from Windsor. You can drive to Windsor by the M1, M25 and M4. £48 by taxi.
Stanstead - is around 70 miles from Windsor. You can drive to Windsor by M11 then M25. A taxi will cost around £75.
