This fantastic Sussex holiday home is being offered for the first time on the holiday lettings market. Situated in the pretty village of Playden just outside the history-rich town of Rye this Sussex self-catering holiday home has much to offer the holidaymaker. Beautifully designed, it is perfect for a short break or longer family vacation. The ancient town of Rye in Sussex is just waiting to be explored on your doorstep and minutes away are miles of sandy beaches and interesting coastline, charming at any time of the year.
Playden Forge is an exquisitely designed 5 bedroom property close to the heart of historic Rye. It is arranged on three levels making the best use of the light and views that surround it. From the moment you enter Playden Forge you know that this holiday home is special; superior furnishings and spacious accommodation are combined to create a peaceful ambience – this is a truly luxurious self-catering house.
The ground floor of this Sussex holiday cottage has underfloor heating and a Bose stereo system throughout the whole house and consists of one large living area with welcoming working open fire, perfect for those winter nights. Double French doors lead onto a conservatory with bar area, the ideal place to entertain family and friends. The fully fitted kitchen and dining area are beautifully presented and ideal for cooking and entertaining. The snug is the ideal place for peace and quiet or for the children to gather and play on the Playstation or Wii that the owner has provided. A downstairs bedroom and wet room also make this property very accessible for guests with limited mobility.
Playden Forge has its own private gravel driveway (with space for several cars), as well as an enormous garden to the rear of the property, the perfect place for children to run off a bit of energy whatever the time of year. And with much of Rye best explored by foot this is a huge advantage. However, Rye Station is just a few minutes’ walk away so you could also come by train to enjoy a short break in this holiday home.
This area of Sussex and Kent offers a varied and interesting coastline. Camber Sands, a few miles to the east, is lovely for children, with miles of sand and sand dunes, ideal for your family vacation.
You approach Playden Forge through a large gate and onto a gravel drive. The beautiful 3 storey house is swathed in the most amazing Wisteria plant that comes to life in the spring and summer months and fills the air with summer scents.
The front door of this beautiful holiday home leads into a large entrance hall with oak flooring. The lounge to the left has pretty leaded bay windows and has been thoughtfully styled with comfortable sofas, tub chairs and foot stalls. Unusual mirrors and artwork adorn the walls and elegant tables with lamps as well as the open fireplace make the room welcoming and a place that you will want to relax in. There is a 50 inch plasma TV and DVD player.
Two bedrooms further along the hallway both have zip link beds and are dressed in crisp cotton linens, bedside tables and lamps finish the room off perfectly. There is a luxuriously finished bathroom opposite the bedrooms with shower wash hand basin with water fountain taps, and the wet room is fully tiled with luxury travertine tiles. Fluffy cotton towels are provided for use during your stay.
The state of the art kitchen is beautifully fitted with high gloss black Aga, American fridge/freezer and dishwasher. A central island with granite work surface and breakfast bar makes this the perfect place to eat breakfast. There will be plenty of china, glass, cutlery and cooking utensils for use during your stay. A utility room leading from the kitchen has a butler sink, washing machine and tumble dryer.
French doors lead from the living area of this Sussex holiday home onto an enormous garden which has a smart table, six chairs and parasol. A BBQ has been provided for use during your stay. Views over the spectacular Sussex countryside are truly spectacular and you can imagine enjoying this space on peaceful summer nights with a glass of wine in hand.
A flight of stairs take you to the first floor of this holiday accommodation where there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master suite has been romantically decorated and is a room that you never want to leave. The dressing area has a dressing table with triple mirror, double wardrobe and chest of drawers, and the wet room is situated next door and is equipped with a shower, two sinks with water fountain taps and WC. The owner has provided soft fluffy towels for use during your stay. The Kingsize Queen Anne style bed has been dressed with crisp linens and pretty pillows and cushions, bedside tables and lamps give the room an extremely romantic feel. Two chests of drawers provide plenty of storage during your stay. A flat screen LCD TV has been provided. The best thing about this room is the two balconies both of which look out over the glorious countryside making this the perfect place to enjoy a morning cup of tea and croissants or a romantic glass of champagne!! .
The third bedroom, has an apex ceiling giving the room lots of character. It has a 4’6 double oak bed, bedside tables and lamps; double fitted wardrobes ensure that there is plenty of storage space.
The fourth bedroom has zip link beds offering flexible sleeping arrangements and once again has been dressed with pretty cotton bed linen, with bedside tables and lamps. A flat screen TV has been provided for your enjoyment.
The family bathroom has a double ended bath, WC and wash hand basin. The room is fully tiled and has heated towel rails adding to the luxury of the property.
Finally, a steep set of stairs takes you to the fifth bedroom and has two single beds and a large chest of drawers; this room would be more suited to children.
No matter where you sleep (or how many guests you bring with you), Playden Forge holds the promise of a relaxing, comfortable, luxurious vacation that will leave you rejuvenated and refreshed.
