The White Horse is undergoing an extensive refurbishment to lovingly renovate the Grade II-listed pub and will be reopening in Spring 2024 as it becomes one of the award-winning Heartwood Inns. A haven for locals, families and those coming from further afield, The White Horse oozes character and charm.
Enviably positioned in the heart of Dorking’s medieval high street and on the edge of the Surrey Hills Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The White Horse is a characteristic 13th Century inn that has held a special place at the heart of the local community for many years. A stone’s throw from the artisanal West Street, town museum and heritage centre, this pub with rooms is perfectly located to explore the highly acclaimed Denbies Wine Estate, breathtaking Box Hill and the plethora of independent businesses and antique shops that Dorking has to offer.
Considered one of England’s oldest coaching inns and believed to be where Dickens wrote his first novel, The Pickwick Papers, the beautiful Grade II-listed pub features charming oak beamed ceilings, a roaring fireplace, a cosy local bar, fabulous dining area, outside terrace and 56 characterful bedrooms.
At Heartwood Collection we love to meet guests' furry four-legged friends too and the treat jar is always stocked! The bar and hidden courtyard is dog-friendly, as are a number of bedrooms.
Best price guarantee - booking a stay directly with The White Horse comes with a range of benefits including a best price guarantee - a hand on heart(wood) promise. Not only this, guests will be offered a complimentary upgrade (if available) and a treat in their room.
